Thrifted dress, Norwegian Wood harness, Zara tights, Tretorn boots, awesome hair
1. So um, be prepared to see these Tretorn boots in every post because I’m lazy and they’re sooper easy to put on and they’re also crazy warm and it’s so cold outside sorry I’m not sorry.
2. This Norwegian Wood harness is tha bomb ass diggity. But then we already knew that.
3. I reeeeally want to see Catching Fire. And The Best Man Holiday.
4. Excited about eating pumpkin cheesecake on Turkey Day (also known as Ham Day).
5. I’ve been participating in Nanowrimo this past month, and while I doubt I’ll meet the goal of 50k, I’ve already made it halfway and that feels pretty good to me! I’ve never written this much, ever! It was definitely the push I needed! I’m pretty confident that I’ll keep it up. This is me, EXCITED. (Also, congrats to my amazing husband Andy for meeting the goal a week early!)
Goorin Bowler Hat. Norwegian Wood harness. Buffalo Exchange dress. HUE tights. Frye Boots. CreativeARTifacts Monocle.
Things this outfit needs: goggles, leather gloves and a long trench coat. Right?! ON IT.
Look at this stuff! Isn’t it neat?
Gadgets and gizmos aplenty!
Whozits and whatzits galore!
Wish I could be! Part of THAT WORLD!!!!
Sorry about that.
I remember being in 4th or 5th grade and spinning around on the blacktop with my classmates, singing that song. Good times. Aaaaand here’s me on another playground, pushing my kid on a – what’s that word again? Oh, SWING.
Good night dear ones, meet me back here tomorrow for the 30 for 30 Day One!
I threw on my 3 dollar Goodwill dress today:
and then I threw another dress on top:
and then I threw on my harness:
and then I decided the harness was a little much (for this outfit, at least).
I do like the dress combo, though! A great Saturday outfit.
Cardigan: Fossil. Dresses: ZARA and Goodwill. Tights and socks: HUE and Sock Dreams. Boots: Doc Martens.
Andy asked me to strike a pose. This…was the best I could do.
(believe me, you don’t want to see the face that I was making)
So, here’s my complete 30 for 30 list. I think I came up with some good looks and with a minimal amount of waffling. All in all I wore 29 of my 30 pieces, and I remixed the hell out of them. I should’ve switched out the shirt that I didn’t wear but for some silly reason I wanted to stick to that particular rule even though I broke another (shopping! Weeee.)
My favorites: 2, 7, 8, 18, 23, 26, 28 and 30. Number 2 especially. FLURVE. Expect to see that outfit again soon. Least favorites? 11 and 29. Meh city.
So obviously accessories make everything better. Hats, belts, ties and scarves are my bosom friends. I knew that going in. I probably could’ve used an extra pair of shoes, though. And I chose entirely too many short sleeved shirts, how did THAT happen? In PORTLAND?! Where it’s cold and rainy? No idea. I had two long sleeved shirts and four cardigans with which to warm myself. Not nearly enough. I got tired of them real fast, for real. And all of my tops and sweaters (save two) were solid colors, I was longing for patterns to spice things up a bit!
But really, I think I work well with a limited amount of clothing, as much as I longed for what lie beyond my 30 for 30 items. It made me feel like a champ to simply get dressed everyday, it was almost like when I parallel park really well and I look around expecting to see people breaking into a round of applause. Sort of like that. Now I feel weird about repeating too soon, I feel like I have to wear Everything Else like some sort of maniac. *looks around wildly* WHAT HAVEN’T I WORN?! GET ON ME! Heh. Relax, self.
Anyway, this is what it comes down to: all I want is to create a more well rounded wardrobe, where everything is necessary and essential and distinctly me. Oh and hey – I recently purchased this harness, which is ABSOLUTELY ALL OF THOSE THINGS:
Bomber hat: Andy and Bax. Cardigan: ZARA. Belt: Vintage. Skirt: Fossil. Tights: HUE. Boots: Frye. Brooch: The Vamoose
I love pinning this brooch to pockets, especially the pockets on this cardigan. It really lends well to the whole military/aviator thing I’ve got going on.
How cool is this?
Pretty cool. I found the MijuAndYou shop through the Norwegian Wood shop which I found through Lost in the Forest, which I found through Wardrobe Remix. And I need it to be mine. So that I can pin it to pockets.
Lazy Sunday: the dishwasher is going, Andy is snoring gently from the couch and Zain is insistently telling Madrox, as he shovels in puffs: “Mad Mad! You have to change your diaper!” We just got back from a short walk around the neighborhood. The sun is out, but it’s heeeella cold out there. Couldn’t wait to get back inside. I couldn’t find my gloves, am sad. I need more:
And because I am a massive dork:
Ten. Hut. Or something.
