Cardigan: Gap. Shirt: AE. Jeans: Urbn. Booties: Unisa.
Ebay vintage fur collar. Fossil cardigan. JCrew shirt. Urban jeans. Doc Marten wingtips.
I am so not feeling this challenge the second time around. Most of it is the fact that I’ve been feeling horrible (mentally and physically) and don’t want to get out of bed, much less get dressed. Not to mention the fact that I hate like 99% of the pictures I’ve been taking.
God. I really have to pull myself out of this funk. Anyway. Maybe I’ll do a 15 for 30 or a 20 for 30?
Sorry to be such a bummer.
Here are some outfits that make me happy:
all via The Sartorialist
Gap sweater. Fossil shirt. Anthro skirt. Drugstore tights. Sock Dreams socks. Doc Marten Boots. Monocle necklace.
It really does.
So I was thinking, what if I included 3 more pairs of shoes this time around just to wear my Frye boots every. single. day? Ha. Wouldn’t that be funny? I skyped with Bethany earlier and she was threatening to burn them when we arrive in Montreal later this month. Aaaand now I plan on wearing them harder. Take that, Bethany!
Anyway, not much to say today. My back hurts (I was helping the boys put on their shoes and suddenly…FIRE) and I’m feeling kind of down, like I’m not good enough, not smart enough, etc. Even when I’m trying to be serious I cannot write anything vaguely serious ever, apparently. Le sigh.
Typewriter key earrings. J. Crew shirt. Anthro dress. J. Crew tights. Sock dreams socks. Frye boots.
Day Two! Two by two, hands of blue.
Okay, watch me work a segue out of that Firefly quote. Ready? Man, it was so cold today my hands were blue!
Yikes. No worries, I wore a coat. But who wants to see a picture of that? Also, for some odd reason I was sweating buckets. Does anyone else sweat a ton when it’s freezing outside? It’s so weird.
Also, my shirt is totally the same color as my tights . Not to go Psycho Matchy McMatcherson on you or anything, I just wanted you to know. I liked this outfit okay. I think it would’ve looked better if the shirt were a turtleneck. And I’m not even into turtlenecks, but it just seems right.
Did everyone have a happy Groundhog Day? I’m not quite sure what a happy Groundhog Day entails, maybe not being stuck in a temporal loop? Happy linear time day.
P.S.I had that damn Pennsylvania polka song stuck in my head all day.
Target beanie. exex necklace. Fossil cardigan. Buffalo Exchange shirt. F21 skirt. HUE tights. Sock Dreams socks. Frye boots.
I thought this was the perfect cardigan to jump start the 30 for 30 winter edition! I love its extra long sleeves and chunky buttons.
Did you know that “snoflinga” is Swedish for snowflake? It’s true. It was my nickname for about a millisecond. I was being given an impromptu Swedish lesson by this guy that I flirted with while Andy and I were broken up in college. I can’t remember why we were talking about snowflakes in a place where it never snowed, but anyway, I mentioned that I liked that particular word and so after that he would greet me with “Hello, Snoflinga.”
Andy hates that story, by the way. It could be told better, it’s true. Next time I’ll add dragons and guns.
Snowflake in French? Flocon de neige. Since it’ll be snowing in Montreal when we visit later this month, I’ll have AMPLE opportunities to toss out that little nugget. Right, Bethany? RIGHT.
So long snoflingas!
Frye, Doc Martens, Unisa, Gianni Bini, Doc Martens, Franco Sarto, Nicole
First 4: Fossil, Last 2: Gap
J. Crew, Fossil, Nordstrom, Anthro
Fossil, Ralph Lauren Rugby, American Eagle, Buffalo Exchange
Anthro, Fossil, F21, Ladybird’s General Store
Urban Outfitters, Express
7 + 6 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 4 + 2 = 30.
I switched several things out numerous times while taking these pictures, hopefully I won’t be tempted during the challenge to do so. O_O
Yeeeeah. I decided to switch out the green and white polka dot shirt with this skirt from Express.
So, here’s my complete 30 for 30 list. I think I came up with some good looks and with a minimal amount of waffling. All in all I wore 29 of my 30 pieces, and I remixed the hell out of them. I should’ve switched out the shirt that I didn’t wear but for some silly reason I wanted to stick to that particular rule even though I broke another (shopping! Weeee.)
My favorites: 2, 7, 8, 18, 23, 26, 28 and 30. Number 2 especially. FLURVE. Expect to see that outfit again soon. Least favorites? 11 and 29. Meh city.
So obviously accessories make everything better. Hats, belts, ties and scarves are my bosom friends. I knew that going in. I probably could’ve used an extra pair of shoes, though. And I chose entirely too many short sleeved shirts, how did THAT happen? In PORTLAND?! Where it’s cold and rainy? No idea. I had two long sleeved shirts and four cardigans with which to warm myself. Not nearly enough. I got tired of them real fast, for real. And all of my tops and sweaters (save two) were solid colors, I was longing for patterns to spice things up a bit!
But really, I think I work well with a limited amount of clothing, as much as I longed for what lie beyond my 30 for 30 items. It made me feel like a champ to simply get dressed everyday, it was almost like when I parallel park really well and I look around expecting to see people breaking into a round of applause. Sort of like that. Now I feel weird about repeating too soon, I feel like I have to wear Everything Else like some sort of maniac. *looks around wildly* WHAT HAVEN’T I WORN?! GET ON ME! Heh. Relax, self.
Anyway, this is what it comes down to: all I want is to create a more well rounded wardrobe, where everything is necessary and essential and distinctly me. Oh and hey – I recently purchased this harness, which is ABSOLUTELY ALL OF THOSE THINGS:
Hat: Dizzie in SLO. Sweaters: Fossil. Pants: Buffalo Exchange. Saddles shoes: Bass. Coat: Tulle. Necklace: Self made.
Although we’ve come…to the end of the road! Still I can’t let go!
Nope. Pretty sure I can let go.
29 of 30:
I’ve always thought that my rust sweater would look good as a vest so I decided to double up on the ole cardigans. Now I’m thinking that the outfit needed something else to pull it together because I look like one huge wrinkle. A schlub. Professor McSchlubster. This is one of those situations where I was thinking, “Cuuute.” when I put it on and then thought, “NOPE.” when I saw the pictures. Also, my stance looks weird in those pants. I look like I’m doing the potty dance. >.>
Ah well. They can’t all be winners.
Hat: Goorin. Cardigan: Fossil. Shirt and jeans: Urban Outfitters. Saddle shoes: Bass.
30 of 30!!!
Didn’t really think much about this outfit, home with the kids and then my guitar recital later on so I wasn’t trying to overdo it or anything. Jeans? Shirt? Shoes? That’ll do, pig. That’ll do.
Dude. I am so excited to be able to dig around in my closet again!!! I’ll write up a recap soon about my faves and so forth but for now I’m gonna go shove some food in my mouth and watch some HULU.
Sweater: Target. Shirt: Nordstrom. Skirt: ? Tights: HUE. Sock: Sock Dreams. Boots: Frye. Kid: Madrox.

What can I say? This was a Monday outfit: no belts, jewelry or scarves because I was too tired to care or try. But there is a kid! He comes courtesy of my womb. Hooray!Anyway, Mad is my sweet boy. He’s very attached to me. He loves to “caress” my hair, which is usually super sweet but occasionally reeeally irritating. I can’t hold him without his hands grasping for strands to pull. Sometimes when I’m about to reprimand him, he leans back, stares at me and says, “Heh.” And then I melt. Speaking of hair, I haven’t felt like doing it the past couple of days. Hence the hood scarf below.
Hood scarf: Imelda’s (Pistil). Dresses: Zara and Buffalo Exchange. Tights: HUE. Boots: Frye.

Hey, what is that down there? Oh, just another step. Which leads to another one! Amazing.
I decided to wear my shirtdress over my Zara dress after seeing this picture in the latest Anthro catalog:
And then I added the polka dot tights for kicks and giggles.
And speaking of tights, can Hansel from Basel make these babies in larger sizes?! Please? Thank you.
*I’m not sure why I used that title. Probable because that’s what I say every time I go outside. It’s that cold.
Bomber hat: Andy and Bax. Cardigan: ZARA. Belt: Vintage. Skirt: Fossil. Tights: HUE. Boots: Frye. Brooch: The Vamoose
I love pinning this brooch to pockets, especially the pockets on this cardigan. It really lends well to the whole military/aviator thing I’ve got going on.
How cool is this?
Pretty cool. I found the MijuAndYou shop through the Norwegian Wood shop which I found through Lost in the Forest, which I found through Wardrobe Remix. And I need it to be mine. So that I can pin it to pockets.
Lazy Sunday: the dishwasher is going, Andy is snoring gently from the couch and Zain is insistently telling Madrox, as he shovels in puffs: “Mad Mad! You have to change your diaper!” We just got back from a short walk around the neighborhood. The sun is out, but it’s heeeella cold out there. Couldn’t wait to get back inside. I couldn’t find my gloves, am sad. I need more:
And because I am a massive dork:
Ten. Hut. Or something.
Cardigan and belt: Fossil. Shirt: J.Crew. Jeans: Urban. Brogues: Franco Sarto.

Yeah, I pretty much just woke up. Can you tell? Tired smiles ABOUND. I wanted to crawl back in to bed but alas, I had to go to work. Decided to use the tie from my Fossil dress again to spruce up the outfit. Maybe I should’ve tied the bow in front?
Dresses: ZARA and BB Dakota. Belt: Ladybird’s General Store. Tights: Sock Dreams. Brogues: Franco Sarto.
25 of 30.
And then I decided to try the ole scarf bow tie again. Good times…
I love it when the wind works with me.
I look like a Disney character: part Snow White, part Minnie Mouse. AWESOME. I’m not brave enough to wear this tie out of the house yet, though. Baby steps.
Okay, I’m off to try to cram in a movie while the boys nap. Toods!
