So I went to Portland Flea for the first time a couple of weeks ago and found two dresses for TWO DOLLARS EACH that completely rock my socks off (I keep thinking that I should’ve bought the entire booth since everything was $1 or $2 but it literally keeps me up at night so I probably should let it go).
Here’s one of them. Meet Blue Makola:
As soon as I got home I googled the Makola line and I found this article. What’s up Madison Ave?! O_O TWO DOLLARS.
She needs to be taken in and shortened (probably to the knee), but isn’t she preeeeetttttty?
I love her to bits.
Goorin hat, AA shirt, ON skirt, Born brogues
Meet my Old Navy striped pencil skirt (ONSPS for short). I’ve never worn it out of the house, poor thing. It’s led such a sheltered life.
See, I like the way it hugs my hips (which is a shocker since I tend to hide them underneath full skirts), but I’m not a fan of how much rounder it makes my stomach look. Maybe I should wear it with an oversized sweatshirt? That might be the ticket.
Speaking of Old Navy:
Yet another (COMFORTABLE AS EFF) jersey dress!
P.S. True story: Old Navy used to be my most favoritest store evar.
Thrifted shirt (Etsy), UO jeans, Chucks
I’m actually way more jazzed about this shirt than my face lets on. EXTREMELY. JAZZED. And who wouldn’t be with lightning bolts zig-zagging across their chest?
I found this shirt for Z’s birthday party in June. The theme? Puppies. Just kidding. MONSTER TRUCKS! The plan was for all of us to wear the tackiest shirts that I could possibly find, the ones that I’d always spied at Goodwill and the like. I’d always wondered, “Who would buy that thing?” Ha! Me. Apparently when you actually want to buy tacky monster truck shirts they vanish? So I took to Ebay and Etsy. Wow! People expect a LOT of money for these things! Who knew? So Andy had to go without. All of the men’s shirts were priced up the wazoo.I know he felt left out…but what can you do?
Cool, that rhymed.
There. A little more jazzed.
These jeans are the love of my life. They are the life of my love. I used to think that Levi’s were the only way to go, but then I saw a post of Orchid Grey‘s and I decided to give Urban Outfitters a try. It was a good decision. I have five pairs now and my hips are HAPPY.
I’m on the lookout for an extender slip (Molly of Anthromollogies has the best slips!) that will make this blue BB Dakota dress more wearable for me. I love the color and the shape but I’m not comfortable with the length, and although I wear jean shorts underneath, I need moar thighs covered. This is really cute, but I’m not feeling the price. Must…keep…looking…
Say hi to Mad! He wanted to be a featured on the blog. 🙂
I found it for $5 at Lodekka. I was planning on having it shortened, but I’m thinking of keeping it long. I like curling up in a chair and covering my feet with the fabric. It’s the little things.
Thrifted JCrew shirt, Bonjour Biqui skirt, Born brogues
It’s been said so many times before but there really is something about pairing white and black together that is so fresh and so clean. C’est Bon! Pour reel!
Although…green and blue looks pretty good too! 🙂 I guess I’m just a huge fan of (chevron?) stripes.
Emarald Ripple Dress
Amazon bandana, JCrew shirt and skirt (gifted), thrifted belt, Pink Studio sandals
Check out my new ‘do! Have to thank Natalie of the Tiny Closet for this one. I’m loving it! It’s great for the bad hair days.
Also, I was complimented on my outfit by a Buffalo Exchange employee who said I looked really “fun!” and “summery!”. Which was exactly what I was going for, so score. Huzzah!
When I was in California last month, my sister Bethany was visiting as well (from Montreal). We didn’t get a whole lot of time together but the few days we did have were spent doing what we do best: reenacting dance routines from well loved musicals.
Since we’re twinsies and share a love of many things, I had to have a pink Old Navy dress of my very own.
It’s the perfect dress for these hot summer months.
I don’t want to wear shoes lately. Or pants. Only dresses, forever.
