Jacket: Nordstrom Rack (ages ago). Cardigan and Shirt: Fossil. Jeans: UO. Boots: Gee WaWa.
Hope everyone had a merry christmas!
1. Check out those glorious rays of sunshine. I took this several days ago before the doom and gloom struck. *looks out the window* Blech. It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas (in California). This was the first year in a while that we didn’t spend there for the holidays. BUT as I write this post, my family is on their way here to sing in the rain with me! Which remind me, I bought one of these bad boys FINALLY:
and look, I’ve filled my silver lining quota for the day.
2. Every day I love these boots more and more. I love that I can cuff them or pull them up to my knees or make them all slouchy. The Best.
3. I don’t know if this jacket/blazer is technically tweed, but go with it. My true tweed jacket that was apparently made in Uruguay is still too small for me. Oh, I love tweed. I would wear it everyday if I could. Can I have ALL OF THE TWEEDS?
Sweater: Zara. Tunic: Fossil. Jeans: Urban Outfitters. Boots: Doc Martens.
So I really want to love this sweater, but then I look at pictures of myself in it and I think, Yeeeeeesh.
I love the material, I love the side pocket, I love the epaulets and so I may need to cut it down the middle and make it into a cardigan. Which reminds me, I need to buy a sewing machine. I took a sewing class several years ago that resulted in a charmingly hideous pillowcase but no actual knowledge of how said pillowcase was created. I feel like if I just spring for a sewing machine and like, tink around a little bit that knowledge will return as well as other interesting tidbits. Like how to make a poodle skirt. Stuff like that.
Another day, same pair of boots.
I found this really cheap utility backpack from Andy and Bax and decided it would be my new diaper backpack. It has just enough pockets for my (and River’s) needs and is super cute to boot.
Sweater and Skirt: Fossil. Shirt: Thrifted. Leggings and Socks: Hue. Boots: Doc Martens. Backpack: Andy and Bax.
I’ve been living in this skirt lately. The elastic waist is just what I need right now, seeing as I still have ten pounds to lose. Ten pounds should be easy, right? Right? Especially since I’m not eating two breakfasts, two lunches and a sensible dinner. A couple of weeks after I had River we went out to eat and I ordered the amount of food I would’ve eaten when I was still pregnant and was surprised that there was a lot left over. I thought, OH. Duh. I no longer have a parasite in me (no offense River!). I’m still hungrier than usual since I’m breastfeeding, but I’m glad I’m no longer craving red meat with a side of red meat every meal. Also, Andy’s recently gotten obsessed with green smoothies, so I feel like I’m eating pretty healthy lately. And those things are tasty.
Sweater and Skirt: Fossil. Polo: AE. Tights and Socks: Sock Dreams. Boots: Tretorn.
More chunky sweater goodness.
I’m so excited about my little-big sister Bethany, brother-in-law Josh and nephew Ezra visiting for Christmas! Can’t. Wait. It feels like ages since we’ve seen each other, but apparently we visited in March? What’s that good old trite phrase again? Oh, right. Time Flies. But it’s so true. River is a tank already and I’ve only got two* weeks left of maternity leave… oh, and I’m THIRTY-ONE now. I was too busy pushing out a baby to really focus long and hard on the fact that I am getting old…er.
Man, I’m such a whiner.
Not too much more to say so here’s my ever-growing Christmas/general want list (no pressure):
OTBT Rockdale bootie
ASOS Premium Belted Coat
Happy Socks big dot tights
4.Miz Mooz Dorian flat in grey. Dorian Grey. HA!
*ETA: Just re-calculated and realized I have THREE weeks left. WEEEEEE!
Cardigan: Goodwill ($7!). Shirt: American Eagle. Skirt: Zara. Tights and Socks: Sock Dreams. Boots: Gee WaWa.
It’s been crazy cold around these parts lately! So it’s a good thing I found this chunky sweater at Goodwill the other day, huh? I was super excited, mainly because I have had NO LUCK there for years. Maybe my luck is changing? I really want to do more thrift shopping, it’s such a thrill to find that great one-of-a-kind stuff. And it’s cheap. Which is good because all I want to do is shop lately. And I’ve been watching New Girl, and it’s not helping! Everything Zooey Deschanel wears needs to be in my closet. EVERYTHING. I remember seeing her Cotton commercial years back and shrieking, “CUTE!” constantly. Man, she’s so adorable I could just smash her face.
I am so angry at this trailer right now.
So this girl falls in love with this guy but not for superficial reasons, the reasons are super deep and multi-layered. See, he’s a lacrosse player. *crickets* Oh, did she mention lacrosse is a Native American sport. *more crickets, maybe an eagle soaring overhead* What’s happening. Oh, Iraq. Now his father’s dead. Now he’s doing bad things with that crosse. Whoa what do you know, a Native American (Adam Beach, natch) is taking Klutz to the “6 nations workcamp” where I’m sure he’ll learn what it means to be a warrior? WHAT. IS. HAPPENING.
First of all, thank you Perez for so eloquently saying what we’re all thinking (“Twi-hards out there are going to love this!”). The only reason anyone would watch this piece of shit is because ZOMG look it’s Vamp #1 and #2 (I refuse to name their characters and let on how deep my knowledge of Twilight runs) and look there are Natives who may or may not be werewolves!!! In the TWILIGHT of their youth…THERE IS LITERALLY SMOKE COMING OUT OF MY NOSTRILS RIGHT NOW ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!!!.
Secondly, not only is there a Kellan Lutz in this movie (Klutz?! Really parents?!) but there’s also a CHORD OVERSTREET?
Why Adam Beach?!!!
