Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand…

I don’t care I’m still free…you can’t take the sky from me!!!!

Andy and I saw Thumbsucker and Serenity last weekend. Both were quite wonderful in their own ways. Thumbsucker was one of those coming of age films that wasn’t too preachy or sappy and for that… I thank it. I especially enjoyed the characters played by Vincent D’Onofrio, Lou Pucci and Keanu Reeves… and hey…that Lou Pucci is really going places. He’s got this great face, but it’s more than that. I think he’s committed to making art, as opposed to most young actors today that will star in any old shit flick just to make a quick buck. *cough*lindsaylohan*cough*

Anyway…the movie just kind of made me want to self soothe, I tried to suck my thumb later that night but it tasted funny.

Oh and SERENITY?? I’m still savoring the feeling of awe. Believe it. I love that film like no other. Mr. Whedon? I forgive you for making me laugh and cry buckets of tears simultaneously. Yeah, it felt weird, but it was strangely satisfying. And thanks for proving how supremely overrated Star Wars is (I mostly mean Episodes 1-3, but seriously! And this is coming from someone who considers herself a Star Wars fan), and delivering a sci-fi movie that’s light on the cheese but heavy on the coolness. I’m going to become one of those crazy Browncoats fans who finds her way to numerous Firefly/Serenity conventions dressed like one of the characters (Zoe of course) and proceeds to sing the theme song loudly and obnoxiously.

Or not. But I still loved it. And I will fall out if I ever meet a cast member (Alan Tudyk? Nathan Fillion? Sean Maher? Hi.).
